# SPI DICT discovery and inventory configuration

> SPI documentation now describes DICT discovery and inventory worker controls, defaults, and readiness thresholds.

August 17, 2026Documentation updateReview recommended

## Affects

***

Teams that deploy or operate the SPI service and its DICT discovery, watchlist, and inventory workers.

## What changed

***

The SPI environment guide now documents the DICT discovery and inventory controls. Inbound claim discovery requires both `SCHEDULER_ENABLED` and `SCHEDULER_INBOUND_DISCOVERY_ENABLED`. Other DICT workers have independent enable switches and documented defaults, cadence, batch, staleness, and failure thresholds; several are enabled by default.

The guide documents shipped configuration. It does not announce a runtime release.

## Impact

***

**Classification: Review recommended.** Operators should review worker defaults and readiness thresholds rather than assuming every background job is disabled or controlled by the scheduler.

## What you need to do

***

Review SPI environment values and operational monitoring. Confirm which DICT workers should run in each environment and set thresholds that match your operational capacity and readiness requirements.
